Resistance

Incensed by this report:

The Mostly Mozart Festival has been canceled by New York’s Lincoln Center after fifty-odd years because of rising disdain for “elitism and exclusivity.” Instead, “the Criminal Queerness Festival,” as it’s called, is geared toward “neurodiverse audiences and the world’s first LGBTQIA mariachi group,” Welcome, Cardi B, Pusha T, and Snoop Dog; so long and goodbye, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

…I present to you the Complete Mozart Piano Sonatas, as played by the brilliant Hungarian pianist Klára Würtz.

It’s a little humbling to think that Mozart produced that opus (the equivalent today of six or seven albums), and also operas, string concertos and innumerable other pieces — all before the age of 36.

Anyway:  yeah, it’s over five hours long.  Consider it my retort to those New York assholes.

And by the way:  at age 50-plus, Klára is better-looking than any LGBTOSTFU “performer”, too.

I think Mozart would have approved.

  1. ……rising disdain for “elitism and exclusivity.”

Who do they think provides all the funding and support for the money pit that is the Lincon Center? I find it hard to believe that the collective works of Cardi B, Pusha T, and Snoop Dog will last for 250 plus years. Mozart will be back.

…unless of course Lincoln Center gets its funding from the federal government.

    1. Funding for the Lincoln Center was put together by a gift from John D. Rockefeller Jr. and the Family Trust in 1956. It gets little to no funding from the Federal Government. Very rich New York Families and Music Moguls’ various charitable Trusts continue to provide Large gifts like a recent grant for $100 Million from David Geffen.

One of the themes from “West Side Story” was the tearing down of the Slum Housing to Build the Lincoln Center.

  3. Kim,
I sincerely thank you for broadening my music horizons. Your tastes run the gambit from classical to rock. I don’t like everything you share for music but I give it a try.

This five CD set is a steal for $18 from Bezos.

In the past you posted your book list for home schooling. Could you do the same for music?

  4. Judge Robert Bork’s book “Slouching Towards Gomorrah” comes to mind for some strange reason. “Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525” is arguably one of the finest musical pieces ever written in human history. Whoever participates in the new event is a literary and musical pygmy and deserves to be forgotten as quickly as a meal in an American Chinese restaurant. Other than the above, I have no strong feelings on the subject! 🙂

      1. When I was 15, I bought my first stereo system with money I earned working for local farmers. One night, I tuned in to a college radio station about 100 miles away. As I was drifting off to sleep, they played Eine Kleine Nachtmusik as performed by the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, with Sir Neville Marriner conducting. That changed my life.

I see the way those LBQ perverts grabbed the primo spots on the LBQT ‘community’ banner… announcing to the world their obvious superiority over the T-people.
What next, special colored masks for undesirable types (to ‘save the vulnerable’)?
After that, your city sewer goes to ‘alternating weeks’ (to ‘save the environment’)?
    The progression is obvious.

And, as every parent gets accustomed to a full month of wages to partially fill the fuel-tank in the family station-wagon, our children are ordered to leave first-period in school, get on the bus, permanently move directly into a remote barracks, then drill in military marches up to twenty hours a day (to ‘save the Union!’)?

    ‘LGBTQIA’… antiquated and quite unlawful.
    Penalties are quite harsh.
In the future, the sequence ‘LBQT’ in my opening paragraph is correct, politically.
    Word to the wise.
