Somebody ‘splain to me why this little shit doesn’t deserve to be taken out behind the courthouse and shot in the back of the neck, instead of being jailed for only 20 years. (Note that even without time off for “good behavior”, he’d be back on the streets at age 46.)
A California man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for hoax calls that led police to fatally shoot an unarmed Kansas man following a dispute between two people over $1.50 bet in a ‘Call of Duty: WWII’ video game.
Tyler R. Barriss, 26, was sentenced on Friday by U.S. District Judge Eric Melgren sentenced under a deal in which he pleaded guilty in November to a total of 51 federal charges related to fake calls and threats.
The 2017 death of 28-year-old Andrew Finch drew national attention to the practice of ‘swatting,’ a form of retaliation in which someone reports a false emergency to get authorities, particularly a SWAT team, to descend on an address.
If there was ever a malevolent, spiteful crime, this one of “swatting” another person deserves a massive prison sentence — but if someone gets killed (see story), it should carry an automatic death penalty… pour encourager les autres assholes who want to play this sick little game.
Red flag laws institutionalize this crime.
Looked up no-knock raids on the internet and there are plenty of them that were mistakes and went south. Over 25 years ago some folks outside of Waco looked out the windows and then turned around and said, “David, did you order a truck load of cattle?” and then a real sad situation started that ended up with a lot of dead people when a bit of police work by the local county sheriff might have worked instead of government grand standing and a lot of death.
I think some of the law enforcement folks have been watching too many TV shows and want to be heroes and they end up with a goat f*ck and dead people.
Janet Effin’ Reno and Slick Willy asserting themselves. *Spit*
As bad as this guy is, and it’s bad. How many years is the trigger happy murderer with a badge getting?
Well, there’s this guy for starters:

Hey hey, what’s the problem? Isn’t it now the American Way, to get the government to do the things you’re too busy or tired (or chickenshit) to do for yourself?
Drawn and quartered in the public square is too good for this yahoo.
He should be facing life in prison at least.
No, you don’t shoot him out of hand. That wastes valuable transplant material. Take him to a hospital with a good organ transplant unit…and salvage one heart, one liver, one spleen, two kidneys, and several square feet of skin.
