Here in the Chile (as in hot peppers) Republic of New Mexico, our state’s budget is completely dependent on gas and oil, and, yes, it just got screwed by Biden. Yet people keep voting these goof balls into office — there’s a total disconnect in folk’s minds between actions (voting Democrat) and consequences (poor schools, crime wave here in Albuquerque, a boom or bust state budget based on oil and gas and on government money at Sandia and Los Alamos labs and various military bases). I’ve lived in NM over forty years, and the Democratic oligopoly has gotten stronger and stronger. When I retire in about four years, I’m picking up my marbles, this is, taking my retirement savings and going home to Kansas or possibly Texas. I’ll miss the mountains and the hunting and the red and green chile sauce, but, oh well…
