  1. I have both.
    Like both.
But the one I reach for most of the time is my Beretta 92FS INOX because it fits my hands like fingerprints.

  2. I love them both. But I have to say: the Glock is more accurate than most admit, and the 1911 more reliable and modern than most admit.

Personally, I think the HK 45C beats the crap out of both of them.

  3. I’m not really sure how being compared to a Honda Civic is an insult. Yeah, it’s dull and ubiquitous…but it also works, reliably, every time you turn the key.

Would that make the AK the Toyota Hi-Lux of rifles? Or the other way around?

  4. Glocks are very accurate firearms. If you can only use one type of firearm well. Practice more. If you pick up one specific firearm and it doesn’t aim well. Maybe something’s wrong.

Glock’s popularity is due to them being “cheap” and durable. Along with many models holding a good amount of ammo.

That being said. Glocks are utilitarian. I have to laugh when people put 1,000 dollars in gizmos all over any polymer pistol. Larger brighter sights, optics, grip tape, Mag extensions.
In addition to those things potentially making the firearm less reliable, it makes the polymer lightweight gun heavier and less carryable

In that case. Just get the heavier firearm.

I like polymer guns in general. As a tool. As a general purpose item.

I do much prefer a classic series Sig, double action / single action.

One other note – The 1911 full size is nice , commander is ok too. But the mini 1911 models, double stack and other modern 1911 variants are expensive and in my experience, not the most reliable.

Glocks and other copies (Springfield XD, M&P, P320) all seem to run fairly reliably no matter the size (full, compact, sub compact) and with most any ammo. Not the same experience with different size and manufacturers of 1911. Also , no manual safety to deal with if you don’t want one. All 1911 models have a manual safety.

The 1911 is a great gun. If you buy one. Get a full size or a commander from a well known quality manufacturer.

If you like Glock and it works well, use it.

Riding in a Honda Civic? Using a Glock? Fucking a mobidly obese woman? “All fun until you friends see you doing it” right?

  5. Love my Colt, but have a stock polymer handgun (S&W 9MM Shield EZ) on the nightstand.

Reason being is that if I have to use it on a goblin, the gun is going into an evidence locker, perhaps indefinitely (especially here in the People’s Republik of Illinois [HAWWWWKSPIT]).

My .45 was handed down to me from my father. Rather not have that get “lost” from evidence and end up in the county sheriff’s personal collection.

  6. Would you have believe the story about shooting town the Russky jet if the old guy had been using a Colt 45?

      1. Many Glocks are made in Georgia. Some are made in Austria and have the proof mark. Some people prefer American made glocks (most that you find in the USA) some prefer the Austrian produced. Just like the west German sigs.

When the Glock 43 first came out in America , many were produced in Austria as the gun was so popular. So both factories made them.

        As for Models Windy –

        ultra concealable(pocket size) – Glock 43 9MM or Glock 42 380

Concealable but larger than pocket size – 43 X

Old school concealable “compact “ but not pocket size. Under a shirt size – Glock 19 9MM and Glock 26 9MM (Glock 19 mags fit the 26 and hang out the bottom extended )

        Large size – Glock 17 9MM

        Big bore – Glock 20 10MM
Glock 29 10 mm (“compact version of the 20)

Don’t like 9MM ? Glock makes the model 27 and 33 which are 40 and 357 sig versions of the 26

        22 , 23 and 31 – 40 and 357 sig version of the 19 and 17 etc

        Competitor long slide –
        Glock 34 and Glock 35 – 9 and 40

Don’t forget. Many people make “copies” of the Glock.

        Sprinfield XDS – 9 , 40 and 45 compact.
        Hellcat – 9MM

Sig – P365 pocket size and P320 larger size.

S&W M&P – like Glock many sizes and calibers.

Hold the different brands and see what fits your hand best.

      1. We talking Colt 1911’s ? Or Colt Revolvers?

1911’s are nice. But I would compare a Colt 1911 to a Colt Revolver like the above 1911 vs Glock, and the 1911 is the underdog aka lesser gun than the revolver.

6 rounds of 357 ? (Python) or 6 rounds of 44 Mag (Anaconda). The 45 ACP just can’t compare to 357 or 44.
