…those being the good old days when Formula One had balls, and grid girls hadn’t been banned.
As the US Grand Prix takes place in Austin this weekend, here’s a reminder of what F1 used to look like:
…a.k.a. “Why young men risk their lives racing fast cars.”
And they accuse me of being an old-fashioned traditionalist.
These days you’d be just as likely to have some…whatever…adorned with an ad for Snap-On Tools.
Man, I had forgotten all about the grid girls
Sure do miss them
The various conundrums like the one Kim mentions above (why would men want to risk their lives racing around a track) or why would anyone want so many guns reminds me of the old Harley Davidson tee-shirt which said “If you have to ask, you wouldn’t understand “.
Bring back the Grid Girls, Booth Bunnies etc
Now, I’m sure that no one would object if the Grid Girls resembled Eleanor Roosevelt or Nancy Kulp, which not coincidentally would remove all the interest in Grid Girls entirely.
I for one would most certainly object.
I would, too, I was referring to the Leftist spoilsports who caused the current and continuing dearth of Grid Girls and Booth Bunnies.
And remember that the girls themselves were the loudest voice against banning gridgirls!
They had good jobs, were paid well, and generally loved their work.
Which of course are all antithetical to the woke left. You’re supposed to hate your job, feel oppressed and marginalised.
Race Day Sunday,
No ‘grid girls’ but they did have the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders doing routines on the grid before the real festivities. White short shorts and crop tops, plus pom-poms. (There were pom-poms?? Who notices?)
