When is a Winchester semi-automatic rifle not a Winchester semi-automatic rifle?
When it’s actually a Browning BAR made by FN Herstal — like this one:
Let’s see: a tried-and-tested semi-auto rifle action, in hunting guise, with a ten-round magazine (two, as advertised), and in a manly chambering* — all for just over a grand?
Oh yes, Kimmy WANTS.
*I took inventory of Ye Olde Ammoe Locquere over the weekend just past, and discovered that I have a little under 500 rounds of .308 Win, but no rifle thus chambered. Hence my interest in the above.
Yes, I believe I can make room for one more in the old locker.
Think I’d prefer all black though.
Maybe stainless steel and black poly.
See, turning it black makes it look like a scawwwy ASSAULT rifle. With camo, it’s just a Fudd gun.
M1A or its modern variants.

Out of curiosity, looked for info on additional mags at Winchester, but no joy. Looked at FN and they are $61.99 per each. Same thing squirreled me away from the first AR-10’s to come out–proprietary mags.
Yeah, I’ll stick with my M1A(s). Not faulting other weapon systems, it’s just me. Learned the M14 in Small Arms Repair School, know them inside and out, and am stocked (M1A) to support them in depth.
Well if there is an itch for a semi-auto 308 you could do worse than this:

Get it colored if you are a black rifle hater
Much to recommend it, light, uses AR15 parts in the lower, cheap mags, threaded muzzle
Averages around 2moa
cheaper than the Winchester
Most “normal” people have a gun and decide they need ammo for it. You have ammo and decide you need a gun for it. 🙂
I like the cut of your jib, sir! Lol
