It can’t be simple coincidence. After my post about coolers the other day (wherein I lashed out at over-priced Yeti), I got this message (flagged as junk mail):
Of course, clicking on either of the links doesn’t do anything except register your email addy as belonging to a sucker. Whoever created this bullshit then spoofs your email address and starts sending you dozens of spam messages per day — so it looks as though you’re receiving emails from yourself but worst of all, you can’t flag your own address as spam or junk so you can’t stop the fucking things. (Ask me, I’ve tried.) Here would be my solution to these assholes:
Why I don’t use Gmail…
Doesn’t matter what email service you use, they will find you.
I have a website with my email address posted. Daily I get solicitations to improve the website SEO standings and everything else you can think of. IOW, there is an endless stream of assholes out that have nothing better to do than harass other people. I am generally against all laws but I could get behind one that states anyone that harasses someone through email should be forced to pay the harassed $10,000.00 in gold within 30 days. That shit would cease post haste.
I am my own email service provider. I still get a fair share of email spam, but at least they cannot read my email and target me with relevant advertisements which is exactly what Google does.
Kim, you have a huge demand there to keep the heads in good enough condition for posting.

Kim,
I don’t know if you are using gmail behind the scenes or not, so this tip might not be relevant.
Google allows you to append anything you want after ‘+’ in your email address, which can be very handy indeed for when you *have* to provide an email address. Simply add ‘+spam’ to your email address for that site, and then set up a filter in your account to automatically route anything with ‘+spam’ into a different folder.
Here are the details with better explanation.
