Yes, the BN-2 was the best of the lot (with a real 4-spd + OD). It was even better when you put on a set of front disk-brakes from a 3000, and the wider wires they required.
The brakes could be found in any junk-yard, and – interestingly enough – the wider Dunlop Wire Wheels could be purchased at Sears (circa 1965).
No computer algorithms and minimal wind tunnel testing. Guys with slide rules and an eye for aesthetics designed that.

But what was it like to live with?
The perfect car would combine ‘60’s (EARLY 60’s) esthetics with modern ride and reliability.
