By using their heavy machinery to block roads in and around major capitals on the continent, farmers in Germany, France and other EU nations have expressed their anger over rising costs, EU environmental policies and cheap food imports which they say are leading to a deterioration in working and living conditions.

“more EU” in their mind means “more indoctrination and oppression so you won’t be able to disagree with me any longer”.
more politicians and bureaucrats need to be adorned in tar and feathers on both sides of the pond.

I see part of the problem right there.
Even the blind squirrel finds the occasional nut.
Government is already big enough and wasteful enough at the local, state and national levels. The EU adds yet another bureaucracy on top of that. Could someone explain to me how the EU level politicians get into office? Are they appointed by member nations like diplomats and the EU hires people to work in their various redundant departments?
