In yesterday’s funnies I featured a meme which contained the following pic:
Am I the only guy who hates this “style” with a passion? It’s a modern one — it certainly doesn’t appear in any art or photographs before the 20th century — and I can only think that whoever first came up with it must have hated women, a lot.
The hairstyle? It’s a bit like a helmet, isn’t it?
I call it the “pageboy mullet”. Seems the first time I saw it was some frog film (on an long flight) featuring a wide eyed actress with black hair that seemed to go through life utterly startled at everything. That pic could be an outtake for all I know.
Don’t recall the name of the film or actress, just thinking the girl would have been cute/gorgeous without the silly haircut and stage expression.,
Film: Amelie.
Actress: Audrey Tatou.
To be fair Audrey Tatou is beautiful despite the bad haircut. Most women can’t pull it off.
What you’ll find is that females with that hair style are dam good knob bobbers. And they’re frequently named Karen.
I think it was first sported by a silent movie actress, Louise Brooks.
I mistakenly told my wife that apparently, when a woman gets an unfortunate hairstyle, other women will fake compliment her. The reasoning? If she keeps the style and looks bad, it makes the other women around her look better. (see “female intrasexual competition” for more details).
My wife went thru the roof. I still have no idea why she got so mad at me.
In any event, that woman in the pic definitely has an unfortunate hairstyle. And I’m sure every woman around her complimented her on it.
It screams cunty to me.
I believe this is a wig. Very practical, it covers the tattoos and the programming electrodes.
.
I call it the Karen cut and it’s a red flag. I avoid anyone with that hair cut as much as possible.
Don is absolutely right.
That hairstyle was part of the uniform for every dried up embittered feminist cunt I ran into when I was at college. Add thick framed glasses in loud pastels, folk jewelry, and bulky black shoes, and you complete the look. Hidden in the background are the 18 cats she is raising “vegetarian”.
IMO it looks attractive on a small percentage of women in a certain age range. Say 21 to a WELL preserved 40. They have to be not fat, and have naturally dark hair. My wife had this for a while, when she was in that age range, and it looked ok on her. She tried it again later, after she’d gained some weight and it didn’t look as good. I can remember one blonde of my acquaintance who could pull it off, but that was rare.
It’s much easier to care for than many hair styles, so it is attractive to active/busy women. But few can make it look good.
Louise Brooks’s bob haircut looked fine, but it was long in the back, not short like the screamer’s in the meme. The screamer’s cut looks like a reverse mullet. Not a good look at all, and I like short haired women.
