Illinois has gone and passed an “assault weapons” ban (300+ guns on the list!). As of January this year anyone already owning an “ssult weapon” had to register it with the state. Predictably, the guesstimate for compliance with the registration is about 1%
The IL supreme court upheld the ban and federal courts have also. The US Supreme Court didn’t intervene, so it’ll have to work slowly back up to the USSC before getting slapped down. So now we wait. Grrrr.
