Of Course They Would

Uh huh.

Now let’s ask the three really BIG questions:

How did this scrote climb up to so close a shooting position without someone from the Secret Service seeing him?

Why weren’t ALL the potential shooting positions already occupied by law enforcement?

One thing’s for sure:  it was a huge security cockup (as this guy explains here), and it’s only by great good fortune that this wasn’t an enormous tragedy.

And finally, the political question:

Why did Democrat politicians try to strip Trump of his ENTIRE Secret Service protection detail a month or so ago??

  1. I’m going to posit that to the family of Corey Comperatore this in fact was an enormous tragedy.

Which brings me to really big question number 4. Can we finally start holding law enforcement accountable for their monumental cockups? To start with, why does Kimberly Cheatle still have a job?

Or how about big question number 5. Why is the FBI, who spent so much effort investigating Trump when they knew full well the evidence was bullshit, now investigating his attempted assassination?

    1. Congress needs to step in and appoint a Special Counsel/Investigator to oversee the entirety of the investigation; and that person needs to be of impeccable reputation, and from outside the Beltway. If some old hands are found to have their tits in the wringer…..so be it.

  2. Less than 200 yards away on an elevated platform. With a long gun. Heads have gotta roll. Did you see the fat SS chick struggling – and failing – to holster her weapon as they were loading him into the SUV? Ye gods.

Re: Corey Comperatore – I was watching Ben Shapiro – whom I generally admire – sound off on the shooting (full disclosure: I’m a card-carrying heathen; Shapiro is clearly not). He said something akin to ‘it can only the hand of God that spared Donald Trump.’ I immediately – and loudly – invited Ben to go fuck himself. Apparently God didn’t give a shit about Corey Comperatore, who got his brains splattered all over his family. Mr. Comperatore is just a turd in the bowl, as long as Dear Leader was spared. Idol worship much, Ben?

  3. I heard the shooter was noticed but not positively identified as a threat and therefore not engaged (or even approached)!

Now, given the Chauvin situation I can fully understand the cops not shooting the perp before they were certain he was a threat. After all, if that rifle had turned out to be a toy gun or a stick the cop that shot him would end up on capital murder charges, it’s got that bad.
But them not even sending a few guys up that roof to check it out is unforgivable. Even more so than them not having identified said roof as a potential sniper position and occupying it.

It’s almost like it was deliberately left open, but as I’ve no proof positive of that I’m not making any such accusations.

    1. The SS counter-sniper was staring at the shooter thru a (most likely) 20x powered scope that cost more than my truck – he could probably count the zits on the kid’s face at that distance. Some rumor out there that he requested taking a shot and was told to hold his fire by his superior. No telling if that’s true – I wouldn’t imagine that a SS counter-sniper would destroy his career by posting that on social media but you never know.

      1. One of the talking heads I saw over the weekend – billed as retired Secret Svc – claimed the counter snipers are not allowed to open up until the protectee is fired upon.

      2. It is interesting that the SS (or perhaps PA police) countershooter chose to make a head shot rather than hip or shoulder. It’s not like the guy was going to scamper off into the weeds. He might have had some useful inf …oh, wait.

        1. shoot to kill is standard procedure in these scenarios.
Don’t want the shooter to survive long enough to do something else, like set off a car bomb he has prepared (which this guy had).

    2. A local cop, at the prompting of civilians, did go up to check, and skedaddled when the shooter pointed his gun at him. He needs to be talked to. Did he report what he found up the chain?

  4. You have to watch Dan Bongino on this ! He was on FOX on Saturday morning. Basically SS is a hot mess today. Also Officer Tatum posted a video of Bongino but also grapic of how close Trump came to getting skull blown apart.

  5. So what you’re really sayin’ is…. it is a target rich environment (Federal, State, Local). I sure hope nobody adopts the U.S. Airborne strategy on D-Day where the mis-drops gathered into small mixed bands and went off to cause trouble. With no particular direction from higher authority; just good old American ingenuity. That’d be terrible….just terrible. Probably why they think they should disarm us. Not to worry, we’re all peaceable here.

  6. I think this answers most of the questions: Trump had ONE of his permanent USSS agents there. Total. His detail is tiny, because it is still “ex-president” size, not candidate size. The others were off duty because of the 7 day a week schedule trump keeps.
The detail was filled out with other DHS agents pulled from wherever. Most of them weren’t even USSS, because Jill Biden was doing a fundraiser in Pittsburgh, and she got pretty much the whole office. So instead of USSS, they got rando DHS chicks.
On top of that, a USSS sniper team wasn’t assigned at all until Friday. There was ONE assigned, and they got there sometime day of the event. The others (like the ones in the photo) were local PD snipers, whose ROE requires explicit permission or shots fired to engage.

      1. Sort of like That Day in Dallas, where LBJ got covered up in SS agents, while JFK was a wide-open target.

    1. So there weren’t enough SS agents to post a pair on each rooftop – but why weren’t local cops posted instead? And from the diagrams I’ve seen, the shooter’s rooftop should have been a high priority.

  7. I’ve heard the words and phrases “staged” and “body Double” tossed out there already. And the rally attendees that were injured and murdered have been called “collateral damage.” Allegedly the person I heard spouting this isn’t a Democrat. I’m amazed at the creativity to come up with this nonsense. I think they spout this crap just to create chatter or static for the investigation.

Speaking of the investigation, will Strozk or whatever his name is be reappointed to the FBI so he can lead the assassination attempt investigation with his pin cushion that he was sticking it to?

  8. How many Republicans need to be shot at before the violence of the left is taken seriously? Ford, Reagan, Scalise, Trump, and? I think Rand was beaten by his neighbor over a neighbor’s spat but I didn’t read much about that.

The left calls for violence through Maxine Waters, Soteoro, Swalwell, Nadler, Schumer, Pelosi etc and their oxygen thieving followers gladly comply. Then we’re supposed to believe them when they claim that violence has no place in politics. They’re utter liars.

  9. I don’t know this to be factual information, but there is word that there was only one “real” SS team on location. The rest were Federal Marshals on load to DHS and some Reserve DHS agents. Multiple failure points before and after.

Once shots are fired, the protective agents are supposed to “stack” on the president and then move as a unit. The pic of the female agent squatting behind the stack is going onto a training tape and not in a good way.

Incompetence and deliberate negligence may share equal blame here, but there is no room for either in presidential security. FFS, I want careers ended over this, at a minimum.

  10. I’m not an operator and never have been, but I have friends who are, one of whom is in middle mgmt in a counter-trrrorism agency. Trump can no longer trust his safety to the feds, he needs to hire his own team, exclusively former SF operators, possibly headed by Dan Bongino. This is serious, he can afford his own team, and the deep state team can’t protect him or won’t.

    1. Yep – He should be on the phone with Erik Prince right now getting a team put together.
