I have a 1996 Dodge Cummins 4×4 pick-up truck.
My exhaust is on the same side and approximately the height of the driver’s window on an earthquake car.

F250SD w/7.3 diesel, it’s not all THAT loud, but I imagine if I held it in N about 1K below red-line, it would blow a lot of soot out of the pipe.
