Actually, it’s still just Wednesday here, Kim, at least in Western Australia; 1:35 pm, to be precise (or pedantic; your choice).
I do get tired of trying to explain that Halloween is not some evil American marketing invention but rather originally an Irish pagan festival called Samhain. This was to welcome the end of the harvest and the beginning of the “dark half” of the year.
But then, I’m sure you knew all that.
Most of these “holidays” have gotten out of hand by too many decorations and crap on the store shelves far too early among other things.
Treat Halloween and such like Ramadan or Dwali or any other holiday you find objectionable. Just ignore it and go about your day.
