Nominations

As FuturePOTUS Trump is announcing his various Cabinet picks, I think you can judge how well they’re going to do in their new jobs by the level of hysteria that the Left has greeted their nominations, one by one.

By “well”, of course, I mean the degree to which they are going to root out and eliminate the DEI and Commie assholes from their fiefdoms.  Here are a few, as I write this:

Matt Gaetz: Attorney-General
Pete Hegseth:  SecDefense
Marco Rubio:  SecState
Tulsi Gabbard:  DNI
Kristi Noem:  DHS
Elise Stefanik:  UN Ambassador
Mike Huckabee:  Ambassador to Israel
Lee Zeldin:  EPA
Mike Waltz:  NSA  (note the spelling, it’s not that Walz)
Jim Ratcliff:  CIA
Tom Homan:  Border Czar
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy:  DOGE (Gummint Efficiency, a non-government post)

There are a couple of names in there that made me wrinkle my brow somewhat, but I think they should work out okay.

And I know that this shouldn’t be a factor, but all the ladies thus far nominated are total hotties.  Noem, Gabbard and Stefanik?  Do a search on their pics — no wait, let me do it for you:

What would make me chortle like a well-fed baby would be if Trump doesn’t announce a replacement head for the Dept. of Education, “as I’m abolishing the entire department on Day One”.  (Ditto a couple others, come to think of it.)

I don’t know for a fact, but I would imagine that there are an awful lot of resumes being refreshed and printed out in Washington D.C. round about now.  And that’s a good thing.

  1. Mostly good nominations. I wonder about Marco Rubio and Matt Gaetz. I would have picked Trey Gowdy for AG but we’ll see how Gaetz does.

Tulsi is smart and I liked most of her views except her former anti gun bullshit. She claims she’s pro 2A now. Even Trump went a little anti 2A on a few things. Hopefully they stop that bullshit.

On looks, I think Tulsi is attractive but not a hottie. Kristi Noem is definitely up there on the scale but tons of makeup is a little much. I know many would disagree but I think Elise Stefanik is the best looking of the bunch. She doesn’t pile on the makeup, she’s very attractive and she has curves in the right places. And she’s brunette. Well most of them are brunette and nothing against blondes but brunettes are better.

If you haven’t seen her yet, check out Anna Paulina Luna. She’s gotta be one of the best looking women in politics I’ve seen.

Either way the republicans definitely have better looking women on the whole than the democrats. Let’s just hope they use their intelligence and make good decisions while upholding the constitution.

      1. Anna Paulina Luna compared Hillary the Bitch of Benghazi Clinton to a case of Herpes on TV. That’s a win right there

  2. The Rinos are already gearing up to fuck things over. They simply can’t take the win and are determined to stomp on their collective dick over and over with golf cleats. There are already stories of Rinos running around saying that Gaetz won’t get confirmed. Fuck every one of those swamp bastards. Either support Trump or get out of the party. Period.

  3. The absolute best nomination over on the Nominees for the People. Brandon Herrera for Director of the BATFE. Nominations are closed now, but Brandon is the number 1 person nominated over all positions with over 18,000 votes. This should be fun to watch.

    1. I better pick for ATF would be the ex CEO of Bed Bath and Beyond since he has experience shutting things down

      1. That’s why I kind of like Noem in charge of DHS (a monumental mistake of the post-9/11 Bush Admin, along with the so-called Patriot Act). She has experience with taking bad dogs out behind the barn and shooting them. 🙂 It’s just another layer of bloated bureaucracy layered on top of what was already a bloated, flabby bunch of agencies. I wish I were confident she’d go all Roman on it, but I’m not. Kash Patel would be good at FBI — he can start clearing that mess with a fucking flamethrower. Same needs to done at CIA. How many assassination attempts are coming now that the treasonous ticks are panicking?

  4. Rubio, on confirmation, can be replaced by an appointee by Ron Desantis. This shouldn’t reduce our margin in the Senate.

Just how thin is our margin in the House? Representatives are replaced by special elections. How solid are those districts and how long until the election?

  5. I just see another shuffling of the same worn out old deck. I’m optimistic but not hopeful.

  6. I don’t recall if any president got all of their nominees appointed after going through the Senatorial hearings. Are there any current nominees on the list who are kind of “toss aways” who everyone knows won’t get confirmed while the Trump administration finds another nominee?

So far I’m not really discouraged by any of the nominees. I’m more discouraged by the three knuckleheads who were in the running to become the Majority Leader in the Senate. None really gave me a good feeling. Cornyn should have been primaried out of office long ago. C’mon Texas we all thought better of you folks. I guess Scott was an asshole governor in FL who trampled on 2A rights. Thune I know the least about and it appears that he’s the new Majority Leader. Hopefully he corrals the RINOs and Never Trumpers and makes it clear that lack of support for Trump’s agenda guarantees the end of their political career.

  7. The big problem I have is that we’re hearing that the Deep State in various departments are circling the wagons. The left is very good at organizing. After all, Barry Sotoero was a community organizer after his hero Saul Alinskly (may he rot in a fetid sewer) and they formed labor unions. An attack on one department may be viewed as an attack on all of the entrenched bureaucrats and they all might resist. This really just shows how badly the government needs to be cleaned out.

The government grew during WW2 and that was probably necessary. After the war, I don’t think government ever got smaller. Each administration seems to just make it get bigger. They’ll grow it by 8% and claim they cut the size of government because they didn’t grow it by 12%. This government bad math has to end.

    1. Hegseth is a solid citizen with a good mindset and excellent credentials to date – having had a lot of time with grunts and actual war. His army rank after 23 years service is Major, which means he hasn’t had command of a big organization. I worry whether he is up to running an organization as huge, fractious and complex as DOD, with all its accompanying machinations of the ring-knocking perfumed princes, lobbyists and rent seekers.

  8. All solid picks, with one exception: Gaetz. He’s a camera-hog ideologue. And Ideologues are not a good fit for AG.

I’d suggest (and I stole this from someone else, don’t remember who) Sen. Mike Schmitt of Missouri. Who sued the federal government to expose the government censorship machine.

    1. I completely agree. The only angle that makes any sense is it is to just get him out of congress, which has some value. It is rather likely he isn’t going to be confirmed, amd really he shouldn’t be.

      1. I want all of us to get together around the middle of April and review our opinions of these nominations. I think some of us are going to be pleasantly surprised.

      2. Let’s think about it for a moment…

Gaetz is a Representative, from Florida. Trump nominates him for AG. Gaetz resigns from his position in the House. But, Gaetz does not get confirmed by the Senate.

Mark Rubio is a Senator from Florida. Rubio is nominated for SecState. Rubio is much better liked by both Dems and GOP. Rubio gets confirmed by Senate.

Florida now has a vacancy in both the House and the Senate. Florida Governor DeSantis appoints someone from Florida to the US House to finish out Gaetz’s term. He also appoints Gaetz to the Senate to replace Rubio.

        That would be 3D chess.
To top it off, Trump then nominates Mark Levin as AG, stating: “Well, you didn’t like my hound dog, how do you like my Rottweiler?”

  9. I haven’t seen anyone else notice that most of these nominations are youngsters … GenX or younger. Hell, Trump is old enough to be their father. That’s a great thing: a major generational transition.

  10. The Noem pick is a little underwhelming for me. Otherwise, grade A across the board. I’m especially eager to see what Elon & Ramalamadingdong bring to the party.

I came across a proposal the other day that deserves a porn soundtrack underneath it: Persuade Clarence Thomas to retire from the court, and make him AG.

  11. Inre: Stefanik
I thinks it’s a shame to waste her talent on the Useless Nations. Better to move the UN to Mogadishu and make Buraq Uhbama the UN ambassador. Then he can freely mingle with “his people” – blacks and Muslims in his off hours.
OTOH, he’d show his true hypocrisy and decline, because he would not have any whitey around to blame, nor would there be any rich white people to hang out with.

  12. Aside to KDT: your relentless advocacy of biltong persuaded me to buy some. I was going to make it myself, but decided I didn’t have the patience. I ordered mine from an outfit in South Dakota called Farmer Bill’s.

My assessment: high end beef jerky. Certainly better than overpriced American beef jerky, but no better than my homemade beef jerky.

    FWIW.

    1. If you’re making jerky (as opposed to biltong), all you have to do is leave out all sugary additives (BBQ sauce, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup etc.) and you’ll be fine.

    1. Curmudgeon,
Thanks for the link. I’ll make time to read that.

I think the first step would be to change the hiring requirements to prevent more meatheads from getting into the government bureaucracy just like regaining control over our border. At the same time pitch out these feckless bureaucrats as fast as possible.
