And in more electrifying news:
...just one among oh-so many auto manufacturers to do so. Also:
...and the hits keep on coming.
...LOL so this “rebrand” thing is just a tacit acceptance that they’re going to sell a lot fewer cars. And speaking of failing British auto companies:
...I guess it depends on what you call “capable”. And then there’s this good news for them:
...except that for your average status-conscious poseur, Hyundai doesn’t carry quite the same cachet as Range Rover. Another product doomed to fail.
...of course, it’s the KrautGov that’s obsessed with the eco-bullshit. The Krauts themselves? Not that obsessed, as the VW factory closings are proving.
Now for some Political Prisoner News:
...LOL he was going to pardon them all anyway, but now he’s got the cover so the Socialists can hardly get upset — although they will, of course. And for regular criminals:
...like the Brits don’t have enough trouble with their home-grown criminals already.
...this barely qualifies as a headline anymore.
...ah yes, that well-known Hezbollah respect for the concept of “cease-fire”.
In Medical News:
...keyword: India. (Yeah, not the NHS this time, but it’s still early.)
...just saying what we knew all along: all a load of bollocks, a mixture of fear-mongering and theater.
...and a direct DNA link to Keith Richards and Willie Nelson.
Now for some non-pictorial
...proving that Holy Government is no different from any other government.
And as we hurtle down :
...”Who she again, Kim?”
...ah yes, that hottie gymnast from LSU. Now no longer a student:
And on that sunny note, we end this Roundup.
If they return to making “normal” cars, when the price of a new car is more than the annual salary of the average consumer, they are still going to have a hard time making money. Oh, with “special” financing they will sell them, but at the end of the day, there still will be no money coming in. I am assuming most real consumers are like me, still hanging on to whatever piece of crap they are driving and hoping it won’t fall apart.
What’s worse is the government’s hand in all this. Right now the “backup” car is a perfectly good Altima that has been sitting in the driveway for a month and a half because Virginia DMV subjects any car with “salvage” title to an insane bureaucratic shuffle, even if the car was previously driven and registered in the state (with a salvage title from Florida). There is nothing wrong with the car. The insurance company totaled it at one point when the front and rear quarter panel was dented (and repaired) by previous owners. No, I didn’t pay that much for the car, but it is still stupid the government “helping” an otherwise knowledgeable consumer is just ridiculous.
What exactly did old Martha do in Rome? Do I even want to know?
“I am assuming most real consumers are like me, still hanging on to whatever piece of crap they are driving and hoping it won’t fall apart. ”
And you would be correct, sir.
GMTA – my “pieces of crap are 2001 and 2003 cars,” so my insurance and personal property taxes are cheap. I have spent a lot on repairs over the years, but – a big but – I still spend less annually than I would buying new cars every four years like some in my neighborhood. I’m glad they pay taxes on cars valued by the state many multiples of my cars. It keeps the roads nicer for me to drive on.
