Talking here about Canada’s assisted suicide program (okay, it’s not strictly suicide per se, but it’s certainly a helping hand thereto), in the Comments came an absolute gem:
“This is what happens when you bring in nationalized healthcare and the government realizes they can’t pay for it.”
On a related topic, Canuckistan’s death by assisted-suicide rate is higher than death by gunfire. Knowing them, they’re going to say next that this is proof that gun control works.
Well, for sure the Death to Old Folks program up here Canada makes me act with great cheerfulness and happiness at my annual physicals.
I don’t want the doc making any notes in our computerized, centralized health care database that “Fred, seems depressed” lest some AI read it and sends me a pill bottle of deathamins.
Since it’s MY life, if I choose to exit stage left I won’t involve anyone else with it, especially a criminal gov’t.
A few thoughts as they occurred to me:
Canada doesn’t have the death penalty, even for heinour crimes like murder or treason, but if you’re disabled, or feeling down, they’ll help you off yourself. Am I the only one who thinks this is sick and twisted?
Do the bureaucrats involved work out how much in taxes they might still wring out of you in deciding if you’re eligible or not?
Has Canada started producing Soylent Green?
When they assist in your suicide do they play Monty Pythons “Always Look On the Bright Side of Life” for you?
