Hiring based on qualifications and merit is the cure.
During the civil rights movement history shows that the movement had a major component – do not judge by race or skin color.
Modern day there are a handful of “POC” (People of Color) with bullshit degrees (such as black studies) who have no real skills to offer employers so they try to make their living race baiting. Many liberal white left weenie morons join in this bullshit.
Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton started this bullshit movement – perverting the original movement championed by Martin Luther King. He must be rolling in his grave with the nonsense going on now.
They used to be my go to for most in depth technical knowledge, and remain so for some. However, for most people, they are simply OBE. If I have a generic question I need an answer to I generally google it and since they have plugged AI into the response engine, that is the first (and usually last) answer I need. Wickedpedia is almost never my second click except for some very technical needs. I suspect that if they want to survive in today’s LLM world, they are going to have to trim DEI out of their repertoire.
My problem with wikipedia isn’t who they hire, but all the edit warlords they allow to direct and control the newspeak. Edit wars are common and the truth is bent and twisted toward their liberal agenda. They are a real world example of mob rule.
I wish I could stop donating to them, but that would require that I first start doing it, and that’s not happening. It’s still a decent resource for things that don’t involve politics, like species of insects and such, and it’s still fun to play “Five steps to Hitler.” That’s not worth sending them any money, though.
(Five steps to Hitler is where you take turns naming an article, and the other person has to find a link in that article to send him to another one, with the goal of reaching the article on Adolf Hitler in fewer than five steps. It’s usually pretty easy if you can reach a country, because most of them link to WWII, and then Hitler.)
You’re “Up Against” a creature of you’re own creation. As stated above, Wikipee’d is fine for general Encyclopedia lookups, like IDK, Greeley, CO.
But looking up characters like Charlie Kirk for instance, there’s always some sort of “Far Right” appellation, whilst bovine like Joy Behar are “Actress, Comedian” etc.
I find it maddening when someone uses a value laden term, Far-Right, common-sense, extremist, modern, etc. without defining what in the fuck those terms mean in context. Charlie Kirk is probably a little to the left of most of us.
Years ago bro and I were listening to actor and firearms expert Gregory Peck, who said, “We just want to keep guns out of the wrong hands” to which bro replied, “Who gets to determine who the wrong hands are.” Exactly, this is why Wiki can turn tricks at the Bus Station for $$$ as far as I’m concerned.
DEI is a symptom of a larger disease in society.

I really don’t need to spend time doing that this morning…
Yah, no thanks.

Well, if I ever HAD any inclination to contribute to Woke-ipedia before, they just went out the window.
WOKE – A – Pedia
Thank you for your donation so that we can hire based on race color and creed instead of qualifications and merit
