South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed into law a bill allowing land seizures by the state without compensation.

The new law allows for expropriation without compensation only in circumstances where it is “just and equitable and in the public interest” to do so.

Of course.  In the meantime:

Bye bye, White farmers.  Bye bye, the Seffrican agricultural economy.  Hello, starvation.

But hey, it’s all about equitable redistribution, right?  As long as the intentions are in line with Party principles… never mind the consequences.

  1. Having land doesn’t make you a farmer. I sure hope the landowners start selling off their land and leaving the country

    1. Sell to who? The Blacks don’t have the money, the Gov’t ministers who want the land don’t have to pay they can seize it. White ownership makes it a farm if the acreage is big enough.

      2. My relatives did that when they left Rhodesia after the 80’s. Just before they came, and they fled, they made sure all the machinery was ruined, the buildings put to the torch, and anything of use that could be rendered useless was.

        They left with no regret. You stole it, you got it…..

  2. When the White farmers are dead or gone, and there’s nothing left to eat except each other, don’t come to us saying how WE have to resettle their refugees somewhere here in the U.S. of A. NOT OUR PROBLEM! It didn’t work with Somalis. It didn’t work with Afghanis. It’s not going to work with tribal types who come from a goatherder history.

    We didn’t create this problem; we can’t fix it. Go see your European colonizers for help.

  3. Once upon a time, Rhodesia and S.A. were the breadbasket of Africa, and also, S.A. exported power to the rest of southern Africa. The conversion of Rhodesia to Zimbabwe and black tyranny brought land confiscation from white farmers to give to blacks in small parcels. Those small parcels might yield the new black owner vegetables for his family, IF he knows anything about farming, which they didn’t, and even if they did, small scale farming like that can’t feed a nation unless ~ 95% of the population are farmers as was the case in the USA in 1800. That criminal fiasco brought starvation to Zimbabwe and precipitated massive emigration from Zimbabwe to South Africa.
    Now, as Kim said, the ignorami in charge don’t learn even from right next door recent history, and more people will starve. I can only hope the starving people remember how to necklace their worthless leaders.
