I have often marveled over the astonishing virtuosity of Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili in posts of yore, so there’s no need to add yet another video to her collection here.
However, I would be remiss in not pointing out that she was dazzling (in every sense of the word) in her Wiesbaden concert back in 2012, at age 25.
In the dozen or so years since then, however, she got married and had a sprog — and the effect on her appearance, so to speak, has been quite remarkable.
AND: apparently she now has an OnlyFans account.
No need to thank me; I like to keep everyone abreast of great developments in classical music.
And she’s still blowing the lid off her piano.
Was KB the first major concert pianist to play with her tits out? I don’t know, but it would be interesting to build a roster. Top of my list would be every schoolboy’s favorite, Yuja Wang, of course. Valentina Lisitsa is on the list, too. YouTube is choc-a-bloc with female pianists in ever-more revealing costumes (check @Gamazda, @LolaAstanova, or @alisaprocenko). It might as well be OnlyFans. Some of them can even play.
Still keeping it to pianists, you could also ponder whether Tori Amos actually played on stage without underwear, back in the day. Or maybe still does, who knows. KB without undies would give the violas something to think about. Damn it, Hans, that’s the third time you dropped your bow today.
My favorite KB, by the way, is this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TL0xzp4zzBE, although there’s not a bare boob in sight.
There are even drummers who perform “scanty” for their YT acccounts. The Korean “A-Yeon” comes to mind — https://www.youtube.com/@AYEON/videos
She seems competent, but I’m not big on drums, so I dunno if she’s actually good or not. But I will admit to enjoying her appearance from time to time.
Many thanks for not posting vids of a singer. I fucking loathe classically trained “singing.” Because as all right-thinking people know, it’s not “singing” at all. It is pretentious goddamned shrieking & bellowing, shrill & forced and indescribably pompous.
Hmm, I thought my take was odd.
It is odd, and I cannot say why, but as much classical music as I listen to (a lot, more or less every day) and none of it is piano based. Piano just sounds horrible to me unless it is thoroughly mixed in with other instruments. Shrug
Different strokes. Glenn Gould’s Goldberg Variations is desert island material for me.
Just watched her interpretation of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” from 2017. She really throws herself into the piece.
