Ah Yes, That Old Evil

Predictably, we’re starting to see that old bugbear start to rear its ugly head again:

Just to address Item #2:

She describes “a sense of urgency” as a damaging characteristic, arguing that it discourages inclusivity, long-term thinking, and learning from mistakes.

This “urgency” argument has even been used to criticize white workers who complete projects quickly or work overtime. Some activists also claim deadlines and strict arrival times are unfair because they don’t account for cultural differences—such as “Black time.”

“Black time” (or “Colored People’s Time” / CPT) is a term sometimes used to describe habitual tardiness in Black communities. NPR’s Karen Bates explains that she learned about CPT as meaning “clock-challenged” and used as a self-referential joke within Black culture.

Still, some academics take this idea seriously.

“Unjust experiences of time are the reason that due dates and deadlines are so harmful—they amplify racism, sexism, classism, and ableism that already deprive the most vulnerable in our communities of their basic rights and dignities,” certain professors argue.

We used to call this “Africa Time” back in my old homeland, and it wasn’t very fashionable amongst Blacks during the apartheid era (because they’d get fired for habitual tardiness), but since the Blessed Mandela’s ANC took over, it has become very much a thing (surprise, surprise).

And the other items on the list are equally wrong-headed and utter bullshit — prime examples of “you should have to change the institution to accommodate me”, and not the other way round.

Bloody hell, as if the airlines aren’t already using Black Time.

Not that this Oklin pustule is a solo act, mind you.  Here’s another one:

A University of North Dakota history professor who studies the American West believes monuments depicting the pioneers “reinforce white supremacy.”

In an interview this week with KJZZ Phoenix, Cynthia Prescott (pictured) discussed her research on pioneer monuments, including a book that argues the artwork promotes “white cultural superiority” and “gender stereotypes.”

Much like with Confederate monuments, the professor said America should re-examine artwork honoring American settlers.

“A lot of people have talked about Confederate monuments in particular, as being monuments that were put up in the late 19th, early 20th centuries for the purpose of enshrining a racial hierarchy. And through my work, I argue that Western pioneer monuments were doing very similar cultural work,” she told KJZZ.

Fucking hell;  left to non-Whites, the U.S. would still have the Mississippi River as its western border and not the Pacific.

Yup, it’s just another “deconstruction” of history to change it into something that’s more to the bullshit philosophy of Wokism and “racial justice”.

And by the way, the “bugbear” I referred to in the opening is not “White supremacy”, but the continued efforts of academia to undermine the very fabric of our nation.

  2. What these loser miscreants are trying to do is flip the narrative into a negative and the only people that are convinced are losers too.

    Yes, as a group, white people are far more successful and beneficial to mankind as a whole and there is nothing anyone can, nor should, do about it.

    Success is good! Who’d a thunk it?

    My race is not something I think about much, if at all, because I have a life I’m trying to live the best that I can, and people that want to be successful in their own right should emulate that rather than whining like spoiled brats.

    Years ago Remus did a lengthy article on “these people” and it summed up as, and I’m paraphrasing, “We don’t think about you at all.”

    Why is it that except for the superior people, all others spend much of their time complaining about them, even race traitors like those mentioned? Envy?

    First: Back when I was gainfully employed, I worked at (and at times, ran) a world-class company vending to the touring concert industry. In the spirit of the “The show MUST go on.” ethos, I always maintained that the deadline was the most important specification to any job.

    Second: When will the world admit that there’s nothing wrong with white supremacy, because — objectively seen — white culture IS superior?

  5. Tardiness might be a root causation of all the 3rd World’s problems. I served two years in the Dominican Republic and ‘Dominican Time’ was one of the first things you encountered and had to contend with if you tried to accomplish anything. We had a saying that referenced the Mexican idea of ‘manana manana’ “tomorrow, tomorrow’. With Dominicans it was ‘pasado manana’….the day after tomorrow.

      A Brit ex-pat in Saudi once explained to me, “The word ‘Inshallah’ is like ‘manana’, but without the urgency.”

    1. If they were somewhat self aware, they would realize that considering normal self control and hard work to be “white” is the as racist as one can get. The problem is they are conflating low class behaviors with race.

      Deal with middle class blacks and you find the same work ethic and punctuality as middle class anyone else. These racist lefties just look at the low class ones a.d decided that was “authentic” black culture – it is like look at Appalachia white trash and calling that authentic white culture.

      They need to be telling these people that to change the results of their lives, they need to change their behaviors. Anything else is ultimately lying to them.

  6. Oooh. This brings back memories, and not particularly good ones.

    My first job out of college was at a supermarket, and for a few months my department was cursed with a “coworker,” and I use the term loosely because she went out of their way to avoid doing anything that could be considered actual work, who EVERYONE in the department despised, When I say EVERYONE, I mean that literally: a not-insignificant portion of the department’s employees were black at that time, and they hated her most of all. This coworker, in addition to actively avoiding work and taking extended breaks that she wasn’t entitled to (if she was actually at the counter for two hours of their scheduled five-hour shift, that was a “good” day), would run to HR every time someone tried to get herto either do work or actually follow heath & safety guidelines, claiming that we were harassing her and discriminating against her because of her race, religion, and gender. HR knew it was bogus, but since “coworker” kept threatening lawsuits, they refused to do anything. And “coworker” started actively undermining the other minority members of the department and trying to get them in trouble because they “wouldn’t stand in solidarity” with her.

    Anywho, “coworker” eventually got into the habit of arriving fifteen minutes after her scheduled start time and clocking out fifteen minutes before the end of her shift. This was a problem (for her) because the store’s time clocks logged punch-ins and punch-outs directly into the company’s computer system, and it automatically flagged tardiness and short-shifts. Chronic tardiness and short-shifting triggered an automatic investigation from HR. “Coworker” claimed it was because she was late because she missed the bus (every single day? yeah, right) and clocked out early because the end of her shift (which she had more or less set because she gave the store VERY limited availability) was “too close to the time the bus home left” and the store was “too far from the bus stop” so she had to leave early to get there on time.

    HR decided that, rather than firing her and risking a lawsuit, they would adjust her hours so her shifts were scheduled for the times she was actually clocking in and out. Problem solved, right?

    LOL!

    “Coworker” immediately started coming in fifteen minutes after, and clocking out fifteen minutes before, her NEW scheduled hours! At that point, HR and department leadership just threw up their hands, stood back, and waited for her to do something stupid that they could terminate her for. Which didn’t take all that long: long story short, she found out she was pregnant and decided that she was going to take maternity leave. Without telling anyone. Didn’t call out or anything, just stopped showing up. The second she racked up enough consecutive no-call/no-shows, HR terminated her for “voluntary job abandonment” or whatever the legal term is. Last I heard, she tried to sue the company for a bunch of BS, but because she hadn’t filed any sort of paperwork with HR or told anyone at the store what she was doing – and apparently admitted as much during the initial deposition – her suit got thrown out almost immediately. I felt (and still feel) bad for her kids, but have zero sympathy whatsoever.

    As one of my coworkers at the time – an elderly back grandmother – rather succinctly put it once she found out that “coworker” was no longer employed by the store, “good bye and good riddance!”
