I submit these two little snippets for your enjoyment contemplation:
First: the I.R.S.:
The Trump administration has executed one of the most significant workforce reductions in U.S. history, targeting over 200,000 probationary employees across multiple government agencies.
It was first reported that Trump’s administration plans to axe around 9,000 jobs at the IRS, primarily targeting employees still in their probationary period. However, as many as 15,000 IRS workers have been identified for possible termination as early as next week.
The targeted employees, many of whom were added during the Biden administration’s expansion of the IRS, reportedly hold non-essential roles unrelated to processing tax filings.
One can only hope that this will end with the department’s complete abolition. I’m not kidding, either.
Second, the CDC:
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is poised to lose roughly one-tenth of its workforce due to a Trump policy axing probationary employees as part of a larger effort of the Trump administration to cut the size and scope of government.
This reality comes as the Trump administration orders federal agencies to cut off probationary employees. That includes roughly 1,300 staffers at the CDC alone. Those employees, according to the Associated Press, are expected to receive roughly four weeks of paid administrative leave.
Let’s hope that the reduced CDC staffing means that those quacks will be going after actual diseases like smallpox and malaria, instead of inventing “epidemics” like accidental gun deaths and suchlike. (I’m hopeful, but not optimistic that this will happen; if it doesn’t, shut them down too and leave it to the states to deal with.)
Like I said, this is a good start, going after the low-hanging fruit (“probationary”, “non-essential”, FFS), but let’s not stop there.
I hope that IRS gets gutted to the bone
Trump should also decommission and sell to taxpayers the guns bought by the IRS a few years ago kind of like when the govt sells surplus 1911’s and M1 rifles.
The IRS doesn’t need those guns.
The amount of waste and theft in this gov’t is astonishing idn’t it?
WTF is a non essential employee?
I work for state government.
A non essential employee is a designation for someone who won’t come in if work is cancelled due to weather (such as snow days at a school) or if there is an issue of some kind that causes a general work closure (such as the scamdemic Covid 19). However, for work from home, where I am, the rule is that all work from home and / or emergencies requiring personnel is decided by each area manager.
Where I work, letters are sent out yearly to those designated essential personnel.
Back in 2022 – the place I work was hit with a cyber attack. Myself and other IT people were NOT listed as essential. We had to report to work. Other han already listed essential (Police, Janitors etc), the rest of the staff (Admin Assistants, office workers etc) got a nice vacation that week. Place was “closed”.
Now, those jobs are needed, but not listed as essential which is a joke.
Basically it is like the indian caste system. When it snows or when something happens, the people who really do work, continue to do work.
The rest of the useless slugs “working” get all kinds of time off when the place is closed for whatever bullshit.
The work from home policy where I work states that ultimately, the ability to work from home is at the discretion of each person’s manager. So two people could have the same exact job, but one could be approved to work from home and the other could not be approved. Tell me that isn’t reeking of favoritism, nepotism and plain bullshit.
Where I work, you could lay off half of the staff and notice zero difference in how the place operates.
I am onsite 5 days a week busting my ass while others who allegedly work from home game the system. Sometimes you try to call or email those allegedly working from home and they don’t answer or reply and when you call them on it next time they are in the office, they get upset and say they are busy and the management tells us the onsite all the time people to deal with it and drop the issue.
I was on a zoom meeting with a bunch of these slugs recently where they were crying about ICE doing the arrests of illegals and someone said we should be vocal and stand up. The “leader” of the joint said yes we should but we have to be careful we don’t want to lose federal funding.
I hope Trump keeps cutting the budget. I want to see massive cuts. These liberal assholes who have been running this racket of having these no show and no work jobs are absolutely terrified of losing federal funding and losing their gravy jobs.
Please keep speaking out and writing to DOGE and tell them to CUT more and more!
“The amount of waste and theft in this gov’t is astonishing idn’t it?”
Holy fuck many people do not even understand the amount of total fuckery when it comes to waste fraud and abuse.
Where I work, there are many people who allegedly work from home 3 days a week.
They DEMAND that on their desk at work they have 2 or 3 monitors, a docking station, and some even demand an Apple machine instead of a PC based like Lenovo because they “can’t be productive without these things” or “they are required for my job”.
My question always is, if someone is home 3 days a week, they don’t have those 2 or 3 monitors on their work desk while they are home, so, how is that helpful?
Another thing, we currently run a VPN to connect users to resources (Shared folders, and other resources on the network).
Now, if all one does is send out useless emails all day – no VPN is needed, you can do email without VPN, and even Zoom meetings.
But for those that work with folders on the network – VPN is needed. So – One asshome who makes $ 100,000 a year recently puts in 2 tickets.
Ticket 1 – my shared folders show up when I am in the office, not at home. My boss replies and tells him how to manually map the drives in case they don’t auto map when he is out of the office. The dickhead employee replies that the directions didn’t work. Employee says he needs the files on these folders to do his job.
Again, keep in mind the employee says he needs the files on these folders to do his job. This is important to remember, now read on below.
Ticket 2 – I can’t login to the VPN. I dig deeper – I try calling him several times. I email him. He keeps saying how busy he is, can’t I just fix this someone for him. I finally convince this useless slug to get on the phone.
He admits he has “not used the VPN in a year”. I see his other ticket in the system.
I inform him that folders on the network share, he needs to use the VPN.
Idiot had deleted the Multifactor app from his cell phone that he needs to connect to VPN. So I Walk him through getting that, get him connected and he is good to go again after a long time of helping this total fuckwit who isn’t qualified to use the remote control to a television.
In the next meeting for my dept, myself and another employee bring this issue up and cite this specific example. We bring up that we feel this is like theft what this guy is doing
We are told by our management “some resources are accessable without VPN” and that “we are moving towards other solutions that don’t require VPN so that we don’t hassle the employees with that, more info to come”
Ok, great, more solutions to make things easier is great. However, how about this blatant fucking example of theft? What the fuck has this guy done from home for the last year when he worked from home a few days a week.
Even more fucked up, there are tons and tons and tons more assholes just like this guy.
They make way more money than I do, and I don’t think even they could tell you what they do for a living.
Govt is completely dysfunctional and the scumbags protect the scumbags.
The only two things most govt employees care about is their position and their pay.
Icing on the cake? My former Bosses Boss retired in 2023. She only ever worked in Govt her whole career. She retired with a pension of over $ 100,000 a year. And also health care benefits.
Keep paying your taxes folks, this is the bullshit the hardworking people of America are funding.
15,000 is a good start, but Biden got 80,000 agents to go after taxpayers.
It should be 15,000 on top of the 80,000.
And Teetotaler makes a good point. How many billions were spent on guns and ammunition by the IRS (and other gov’t agencies)? Make the agencies sell them as surplus.
I’m sure the IRS, Dept of Ed etc got automatic M4s and M16s. Those need to be sold to civilians
A few years ago I did some digging and found 57 agencies in DC which had some form of police power, among those the Dept of Education, which had a SWAT team.
WTF?
From the press-release:
* “…lose roughly one-tenth of its workforce…”.
.
American tax-payers are people.
We are not an ‘it’.
