Talking about an “assault weapons” ban, said piece of shit having been sent to VAGov Youngkin for his signature:
“Nobody needs to go hunting with an AK-47.” — State Sen. Jennifer Boysko (D)
Well now, that kinda depends on what you’re hunting… dunnit?
I’m not up to speed on Virginia’s political composition nowadays, but I hope that Youngkin will veto said abhorrence toot sweet and not have it overridden.
And one last thought:
This shit started in states like where I live Massachusetts. Now the liberals are trying to spread this shit nationwide.
Criminals don’t give a fuck about laws. The liberals either ignore this or they do know it but just want to violate peoples rights. I think the latter.
IF THESE GUN LAWS WORK SO WELL WHY DO POLITICIANS HAVE ARMED POLICE AND BODYGUARDS PROTECTING THEM?
# PROTECT THE 2ND AMENDMENT
# NO TAXPAYER FUNDED BODYGUARDS FOR POLITICIANS.
“Nobody needs to go hunting with an AK-47.” — State Sen. Jennifer Boysko (D)
================
By openly stating that, she has demonstrated an urge to criminally violate the constitution and should be immediately removed from office and banned from ever being in gov’t employment.
after she is removed from office, she should be adorned with the classic hot tar and feathers
Something just occurred to me while I was reading this. Teetotler’s comment about politicians and their armed bodyguards. When’s the last time you heard that any of those slugs needed protection? Is it happening, and just not being reported? Or is it just something they give themselves because someone else has bodyguards and the taxpayers are paying for it? If you’re like me, most folks just don’t think they’re worth the price of a boolet.
Considering the purpose of the 2nd Amendment, a case can be made that the state could outlaw hunting rifles, but not be able to outlaw weapons of war / assault rifles / whatever you want to call them.
Last year Youngkin vetoed over 30 gun control bills that came out of the legislature here in the Commonwealth. I expect the same this year. The challenge here will be holding the governor’s office and retaking the legislature this year (VA has state elections on odd years – don’t ask). Hopefully we can elect this woman (Marine and small business owner https://wjla.com/resources/media/86f061d3-0ef4-4687-a52c-f45fa7475f61-medium16x9_Winsomecampaignposter.jpg?1635201827966) instead of the commie Karen the donks are running. She has to beat the margin of fraud from Northern VA just as Youngkin did in 2021.
I’ve met Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears on quite a few occasions and she’s a non-nonsense former Marine and most pleasant firearms purist. She’s got my vote for sure.
Youngkin campaigned along side Sears and AG Miyares and all three were swept into office. Miyares is also very pro-gun and will likely run for governor in 2029. (I happen to know his wife from high school).
Gov. Youngkin vetoed a bunch of anti-2A bill last year and we expect him to do the same this year. That said, this is his last year and if we lose the Governor’s seat to a Democrat these bills will just sail through next year.
Democrats control our General Assembly by razor thin margins so overriding the veto isn’t going to happen. But they’ve gone “full retard” this year pushing bills that courts are finding unConstitutional in other states, including things like no guns for 18-21 year olds, no semi-autos, no standard capacity magazines, no building/finishing your own guns, no trigger modifications, waiting periods, storage laws, “sensitive places”, and creating a taxpayer funded Virginia Center for the Intervention and Prevention of Firearms Ownership (or some such thing).
Trump reducing the size of federal agencies has put a lot of pressure on our real estate market (lots of people selling and bugging out) so hopefully that will clear out a lot of the liberal carpet-baggers that Obama ushered in during the naughties.
