The can be only one reaction to this little snippet:
Canada PM Mark Carney Promises Zelensky More Support for Ukraine
Lessee: Canuckistan has few actual soldiers, no tanks, no aircraft and no spare money. (To be fair, their snipers are pretty good, but snipers don’t win battles, let alone wars.)
So what kind of “support” are we talking aboot, Markey-Mark? According to the Ukes:
“The Prime Minister made the right points about how we need to step up pressure on Moscow. The shadow fleet, the banking sector,” Zelensky wrote. “We must impose all-out sanctions on everything that provides Russia with funding for its war. Only then can we force Putin to a just and lasting peace.”
Zelensky also indicated that Canada was interested in investing in the reconstruction of post-war Ukraine and in joint defense deals to produce weaponry.
“Canada is interested in military-industrial and defense cooperation,” Zelensky said. “Throughout this war, we have gained significant experience in the production of EW systems, long-range missiles, and drones. Ukraine is ready for joint production.”
No you’re not. Your factories have been bombed to shit, while Canuckistan has none that aren’t reliant on U.S. subsidies and trade.
And we all know how POTUS Trump feels about that.
Good luck, guys.
Let the Canadians waste their money on a dumb war. Fuck them. Stupid ass bunch of people running that country to the north.
Canada offers production facilities that are out of reach of Putin’s missiles.
Canada does have the F35 and F18 airplanes but without the support US aviation has, the airborne radar and tankers. Part of the reason the F35 is less than great is that they designed it as a jack of all trades. Canada needed a parachute brake on it for use on icy runways.
Just a small correction. The rest of your point is correct, the assistance of Canada will not intimidate the Russians.
Also use German Leopard tanks, M1A was too much of a fuel guzzler for their logistics train.
The groups I trained tended to be very good soldiers and sailors.
Be that as it may, No Canadian forces will ever deploy to the Ukraine.
SOTI, perhaps twenty years ago, I saw a political cartoon with a General describing the roles each NATO member’s forces will provide. “America, the main landing, air cover, and the naval support, Germany, Paratroopers to secure the access roads behind the invasion zone, The UK, secure the cliffs on the east, Canada, Coffee and Donuts . . .”
Hey, let’s not knock Tim Horton’s, okay?
Are there any Tim Hortons left in the USA? Most of the ones I knew of in Maine closed.
I do enjoy Tim Hortons. It is damn good stuff. The only thing I think I want from Canada. And yes I’m willing to do my civic duty and ready to pay a tariff on it.
The nearest to New England appear to be on Long Island, mainland NY possibly and Pennsylvannia
Canucks hate us because they are not us. They’re North America’s little brother and always will be. They’re lucky we have renamed Lake Ontario to something else yet.
