And speaking of global warming in Britishland:
Snow in GB ? They weren’t supposed to ever see it again, according to some nitwit.
I found the expert — written 20 years ago:
[T]he warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”…
UEA……where the “hockey stick” came from?
Is that a school of and for morons?

Makes sense. It’s hard to see the enemy in the dark. Wouldn’t want to shoot your allies.
Considering it’s (f)GB, are guns readily available? They might be better prepared if they stocked up on masks (of any variety, not only medical masks), gloves, and either pitchforks or baseball bats (or cricket bats, although I’m not sure about durability).
Dem Rep. Thompson:
I Don’t Think.
Gun Stores Are ‘Necessary Businesses’
Fixed it.
Did you see what the actual limits are for alcohol in Australia?
12 bottles of wine AND two cases of beer, per PERSON, per DAY.
As limits go, that’s not much of one IMHO.
And this from someone living in a state where the state-run liquor stores are closed by government fiat, and the local beer distributor is also closed (by his own choice, so can’t complain, you gotta do what you gotta do). So when I want beer I have to drive about a 45 minute round-trip, and I’m rationing my small supply of bourbon and scotch.
When this shit is over I’m gonna stock up on my favored liquors, deeper than usual.
I don’t drink much beer at home anyway– it often goes “off” because I forget about it. But I ALWAYS have several months’ worth of assorted whiskies, gin, vodka, rum, brandy and port, as well as a few bottles of wine, sherry and port on the shelf.
So while you were busy stocking up on guns and ammo (never a Bad Thing, of course), you neglected yer booze supply?
Go, and do not sin again. [/New Testament]
I mostly drink beer. As you note, it’s difficult to keep a supply on-hand because it’ll go skunky. Under normal circumstances I go thru maybe four or five bottles of hard stuff a year, and I generally keep a bottle each of scotch (Glenmorangie) and bourbon (Jim Beam Black) on-hand and get a new one when they’re down to about 1/4, but the local beer distributor being closed means I’m more likely to reach for the hard stuff, and the supply is dwindling.
Lesson learned.
Have I mentioned one of the few things I dislike about living in PA is the state liquor stores? Everything else is better than NJ though.
It would seem that it would be very difficult not to be better than New Jersey.
