  1. Um, you do of course know that an EV is slightly easier to build than an ICEV, requiring fewer robots and human workers?

    I would love to have a Mini SEV. For commuting natch although on YouTube there’s a credible guy (Real Engineering) who has crossed Canada in the middle of winter in his Tesla. Obviously I wouldn’t keep it in a garage that is part of the house, like the Finns who insist that the sauna being a fire risk should be on the other side of the lot. Also when I had a Mazda RX-7 I often thought that its smooth power delivery was like an electric engine. So I’m not anti-EV per se. I just think that it should be up to personal choice.

  3. Let’s see, common thread? How about, the govt is discussing cutting incentives for consumer EV purchases, meaning the few people who’d actually buy one now can’t afford to.

    1. Nope. It’s racism.

      People aren’t buying enough of them to keep the manufacturers in the black, so racism.

      If we didn’t have racism, identifying problems and dealing with them would be much more complicated.

I wish these higher ups who make these dreadful and costly decisions whether it is the glorified golf carts and woke DEI policy etc all lose their jobs and get banned from any position of responsibility until they can prove that they are capable of making rational decisions. Start them off cleaning dog parks, hauling trash or something that isn’t intellectually taxing since they clearly have a flawed thought process.

  6. There is a lot of ME TOO! management in big corporations. Some little company comes up with an unique idea and all the big boys want a piece of the pie. Everyone else is dumb ass so we should be as well.

    Many of these ideas don’t scale well or run at margins that are wanted by Fortune 500 companies. Tesla might make money but Ford won’t.

    Add in the “We are Green and Cool!” BS that marketing departments promote and some upper management dolts don’t seem to be able to just say NO to a bad idea.

  7. The fact of the matter is that these glorified golf carts simply do not suit the needs and wants of every consumer. Some consumers need or want a more powerful car or truck to tow a camper or boat. the golf carts simply do not do that well. People need a big enough car, truck or van to bring their cherubs to soccer practice and such. The station wagon or mini van simply doesn’t work well when it is powered by batteries.

    Sure these golf carts might be great for local use but in many instances they are simply inadequate.

    When we switched from kerosene, whale oil and such for lighting, the government didn’t step in and demand everyone switch regardless of cost. The consumer was given the option to use the new technology of natural gas or electricity brought to one’s home. That is how we need to implement changes to society, choice by the consumer rather than government edict.

    1. The same people that are trying to ban ICE vehicles are forcing the closure of power plants, replacing them with wind and solar, one of which never works at night and the other sometimes produces no power for over a week. When you get home from work and there’s no electricity to recharge your EV, it is “inadequate” for _all_ purposes except decorating your driveway.
