...wait:  the Austros have over-45-year-olds in schools now?

...and even from the grave, Henry gets a Schadenböner:

  1. With 20 years working for Civil / Structal firms in the 70’s, 80’s and into the 90’s, I believe we had exactly 3 out of 1,500 or so employees that fit the ” Social Justice” check boxes. Even at that time we had to fill out a grid showing how many of what flavor we had in order to submit our proposals for the large DOT / DOE projects that were our main source of work. I’m sure no one actually audited the “optomistic” numbers we submitted. All the other firms competing for the projects had the same problem. ……and the same solution. ALL my engineer classes during school were white males and we didn’t have time for any of the other “social” courses — except for ” English for Engineers”.

It’s those racist written tests to get your PE ( Professional Engineer ) License that insisted that there was only one correct answer to a question –that was the problem. Of course the ASCE could always lower it’s standards but then things like buildings pancakeing or dam’s breaching or bridges collapsing might happen more frequently.

    1. GT,
I graduated with my BS in Civil Engineering in 1994 and had the exact same experience throughout my college education and career in construction management. The problem I see is that they’ll drag DEI into engineering. Yes we have the technology to build I95 through cities but is the social ramifications of dividing neighborhoods. That was the crux of our junior year project, linking technology with society. The few women I did work with in construction tended to be very bitter, irrational and demanding. some were quite talented but they were very, very rare.

  2. There is some meme going around with a bunch of women from various demographics asking what is better than diversity. Apparently James Woods replied “ability” to the meme. That sums it up nicely

  3. “ ”scholars”? People with degrees in “_____ Studies”? Ah don’ theenk so, Boss.‘

Indeed. Scholars do scholarship, and any scholarship would show that ‘(fill in blank) studies’ is drivel.

  4. Well……I thought “Austrian School” covered a different range of topics. Maybe Mises set up something that I missed.
