…they just keep on coming:
The 2022 U.K.-based Emissions Analytics study found that after driving both a gas and electric car 1,000 miles, the number of particles collected from the EV was vastly greater than the gasoline-powered car.
So just to be clear: in terms of environmental damage caused when driving an electric car, you might just as well be in a coal-fired steam locomotive.
Got it.
The anti-EV crowd is grasping at straws here and throwing rubber worn off on the road surface with soot pumped out by diesel semis.
I’m only surprised at the order of magnitude that an EV is bad for the environment
This, at least, is solvable: they just need to make better tyres.
…and tires are made from what?
Well, locomotive wheels are steel….just sayin’.
I’ll take a steam locomotive over… well, pretty much anything else every day of the week and twice on Sunday. And I’d do eeeeeeeevil things to get my hands on Norfolk & Western #611 and/or Southern Pacific #4449….
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve asked prospective EV buyers how they felt about purchasing a Stanley Steamer. I quit trying to (mostly) patiently explain the energy conversion and line transmission losses involved long ago — it’s hopeless.
Then there’s the (largely Chink) environmental consequences of the battery production — and as much, the disposal of burned-out batteries.
You’ll usually get blank stares or the standard, “Well I think . . .” horseshit.
