In line with the insurgence of far-right parties elsewhere in Europe, the Freedom Party has seen its popularity soar, fed by voter anger over migration, inflation and Covid restrictions. Its leader Herbert Kickl, 55, has vowed to transform the country into ‘Fortress Austria’, slamming the current government’s ‘failed migration policy’ as being to blame for the Islamist terror plot on a Taylor Swift concert. Mr Kickl and his party have promoted ‘remigration’, the controversial* concept which promotes the expulsion of immigrants of non-European ethnic backgrounds who are deemed to have failed to integrate.
Based on current projections, the conservative People’s Party, led by current Chancellor Karl Nehammer, is on course to become the second largest group, with 26.3 per cent of votes.
It’s about time some kind of reality slammed home — not for the people themselves, but for the “ruling class” who have perpetrated this nonsense on their people.
Of course, the Left reacted in the usual way:

My aunt used to be married to a man named Daryl, a professional hot-air balloonist. I’m pretty sure Daryl had sub-clinical psychopathy. He was an utter scofflaw, partied hard all his life, and it was never a dull moment with him. Daryl’s dark side was violent and sadistic. He never abused my aunt, but he did some really bad shit in her presence, and she divorced him though they remained friends.
One time Daryl went camping with some of his buddies and everyone got hammered. In the morning, one fellow wouldn’t stir from his sleeping bag. Daryl got fed up. He backed his pickup truck to the man’s camp and blew diesel exhaust directly in the sleeping man’s face.
You have to wonder how long the German People are going to compare their local conditions to those that exist in Poland and Hungary – and what will be happening in Austria, and start asking about an Anschluss with Vienna?

Kickl and Orban should find an umemployed Hapsburg somewhere and put the old band back together. A pro-freedom, pro-European Austro-Hungarian Empire would do well. See if the Czechs want in; they make great guns. Just stay away from the Germans/Prussians. That never ends well.
