History Lesson

Not a bad little pocket history course on South Africa over at Ammo.com.

Telling the Afrikaners to “go home” is a nonsensical statement. They are not Dutch. They do not hold Dutch passports, nor would they at any point have been welcomed back by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In many regions of South Africa, the Afrikaners have been around longer than the Bantus and have a stronger claim on the land, having purchased it from Khoisans. On the other hand, traditionally Bantu land was conquered from other Bantu tribes or taken by the Bantus from the Khoisans.

Go ahead and read it all — it’s a short piece — and you’ll be well informed on the topic in future.

Bye Bye Bunting, Daddy’s Gone… Wait A Minute

I’ve never accompanied Mr. Free Market and Doc Russia on their South African safaris because as much as I’d love to share the experience with them, quite frankly I’ve been there, done that, and can’t afford it anymore.

Now it looks like nobody’s going to be doing much hunting in the near future, because of ANC policy:

THE South African government has begun the process of seizing land from white farmers.
Local newspaper City Press reports two game farms in the northern province of Limpopo are the first to be targeted for unilateral seizure after negotiations with the owners to purchase the properties stalled.

Africa wins again.

And I may consider calling South Africa “Zimbabwe South” in the near future.  Feel free to explain to me why this isn’t justified.

Dirty Saint

There’s an exhibition going on in London at the moment which is all about the life of the sainted Nelson Mandela, and predictably, all the Usual Suspects are oohing and ahhing about it.

Well, far be it for me to piss in anyone’s lobster bisque, here, but let’s have a little perspective on the man and his doings, shall we?  Brace yourselves.

“Today I don’t mourn Mandela’s passing. Instead, today I think of the people he murdered.  I think of them lying in their graves while for years he drank champagne and was fettered on the international stage as some kind of living god.  I think of all the people who have died since he became president of South Africa.  All the farmers, all the elderly, all the men, women and especially all the children, who died as a result of him being unleashed onto South Africa.

“And while the brainwashed celebrate his life and his so-called achievements, I remember that he pleaded guilty to 156 counts of public violence, including mobilizing terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places.  Many innocent people including women and children died because of Mandela and his MK terrorists.  For that he wasn’t hung by the neck until dead — instead he was given a life sentence in jail, the biggest mistake ever made by the South African judiciary.  For it gave the ANC time to white-wash his history and remake Mandela into a freedom fighter.  And with the help of Communists around the Western world, the reincarnation of Mandela the freedom fighter and Black activist was achieved.

“I’ll remember too that he released thousands of criminals, murderers and rapists from jail every year to celebrate his birthday while president, unleashing even more violence, chaos and death on the people of South Africa.  I’ll remember Mandela supporting some of the worst dictatorships and human rights abusers in the world:  Fidel Castro, Ghaddafi in Libya, China, Suddam Hussein in Iraq, Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe… the list goes on.  No one too evil to visit or welcome in South Africa by Mandela, yet he was celebrated as a human rights champion by the world.

“I’ll remember that over 100,000 people were murdered under Mandela’s presidency –- an average of 25,000 people each year.  Up from 170 each year under Apartheid (1948-1989).  I’ll remember that in the first four years of his presidency, the South African currency lost 80% of its value and 2.8 million working days were lost due to strikes.  I’ll remember that the national debt doubled under Mandela.

“Yes , I will remember the failure that the man Nelson Mandela was.  Not the magical myth we’re supposed to believe in.  The world may have repackaged and re-branded him, but underneath he’s still the same murdering terrorist and Communist he always was.” — Lauren Southern

And there’s not one single falsehood in any of that.

Some saint.

Liberal Dreams

It looks as though my advice to Let Africa Sink has been comprehensively ignored by ultra-liberal Ex-BritPM Tony Blair (OMG, not him again), who is suggesting that Moar Foreign Aid will fix Africa’s problems. (Predictably, in the manner of socialists everywhere, if their system fails, the answer is to do it again, only harder.) This is recommended despite the history of foreign aid sent to Africa:

This time, however, the loathsome Blair seems to have acknowledged the failure of the West’s foreign aid policies (tacitly, at least), and has therefore added a new wrinkle: more foreign aid, plus… recolonization. Details of this lunacy can be found here — and fair warning, it is a long, long read. However, it’s worth the hassle, because in explaining Blair’s case for aid plus recolonization, the article contains a massive number of graphs and charts which outline, in extraordinary detail, just how badly and how comprehensively the African continent has managed to fuck things up. Sample (from many such), which shows what actually happens to most foreign aid:

Blair’s answer, which is wonderful, can be summarized as follows:

  • We Shall Run Your Governments
  • We Shall Run Your Infrastructure
  • We Shall Run Your Economies
  • We Shall Run Your Education and Health
  • We Shall Colonize You by Bringing You Here

(The last, by the way, has already been liberal governments’ policy for decades.)

Given liberal / socialist Western governments’ own track records in running government, infrastructure, the economy, education and health, a sensible African would run from both Blair’s suggestions and their existing predicament. (But that assumes that anyone’s sensible over there, which is a stretch.)

The most breathtaking hypothesis put forward in the article comes right at the end.

“What if Africa really is a continent inhabited by those to whom natural selection has bequeathed a different behavioral heritage than the rest of the planet?”

For the mealy-mouthed phrase “bequeathed different behavioral heritage“, substitute the more realistic “rendered incapable of self-government“.

I’d suggest that Blair read Kipling’s trenchant and disillusioned poem, The White Man’s Burden, which says quite plainly that regardless of all the West’s good intentions and efforts, the Third World will nevertheless sink into the pit. But no doubt, Blair was taught that Kipling was an eeeevil imperialist and should therefore be ignored.

So, to sum up our opposing positions:

The state of Africa is a scar on the conscience of the world [and we have to help them].” — Tony Blair

It’s their own fucking fault. Let Africa sink.” — Kim du Toit

Feel free to disagree with me. But I have history on my side.

Many, many thanks to Reader Jason R, who got this ball rolling by sending me the link to the Those Who Can See article.

(South) Africa Sinking

From Longtime Friend & Reader Larry A. comes this question:

“I was thinking about you the other day when reading about South Africa’s plan to strip land from the white farmers, and the promise that they were not calling for slaughter of the whites, ‘for now’. I am well aware of your Let Africa Sink essay from the Olde Days, but wondered if you think it will go full Rhodesia this time? Do you still have family / friends there that you are concerned are at risk? The silence of the media (in this country at least) is deafening.

I don’t think that South Africa will go Full Rhodesia. I think it will go Full Nazi Germany, with the Whites taking the place of the Jews. And I think — no, I am sure — that the rest of the world: the U.N., the West and anyone else that counts* will do sweet fuck-all to stop it nor will they intervene in any way because African Blacks killing African Whites is just fine by the rest of the world because Apartheid.

Africa will win again.

And yes, I have friends and family still living there. My sister and her husband live on a farm. Does that answer your question?

*Except maybe Australia, bless ’em.
