And from Mr. Free Market, The Englishman, Mr. & Mrs. TrueBrit and all my Brit Readers comes this cheery message:
Note to the United States: I know that a whole bunch of assholes in this country hate you and want you gone, both the republic and the Constitution which covers and protects us all. But take comfort in the fact that there are a lot more people like me than there are of them, despite what they think.
Very interesting piece by Max Morton at American Greatness. One passage caught my attention in particular:
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what country you come from, what god you worship, or what political ideology you believe in. When a man has no options, when no hope remains, when for him there is no tomorrow . . . he will fight with ferocity and fury not of this world. It is worth considering this fact—written in history from Thermopylae to the Alamo and to the Warsaw ghetto—when attempting to impose one’s will on another.
He’s talking about Afghanistan and the timeless futility of trying to achieve anything in that shithole. But read on through to the end, when he brings it home:
If we listen to the words of the politicians and their bureaucrat handlers in Washington, we can hear the language of the imperative, “Submit,” with no post-capture options. And, if we look at the current zero-sum game of political warfare, cancel culture, and the weaponization of the Justice Department, federal law enforcement, and intelligence agencies, we can see deliberate preparations to answer traditional Americans’ “or what?” response.
But:
In reality, [our current ruling elites] are not strong enough—or smart enough—to wield the command “Submit.” So, having picked up the sword, they will watch it be taken from their hands and then used against them by their very enemy—traditional Americans, who understand there will be no tomorrow, and in whose eyes there is a fierceness, a fury, that is beyond their world. It will be a fatal miscalculation that will bring about the downfall of a cursed and failed American ruling elite.
We can only hope.
What amuses me about the whole patriotic “invasion” of the Capitol has been the panicked response from the Establishment. Here are a few examples:
Justice Department warns of national security fallout from Capitol Hill insurrection
“We have to do a full review of what was taken, or copied, or even left behind in terms of bugs and listening devices, etc.,” said Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.), raising the possibility that foreign adversaries could have easily infiltrated the crowd that encircled the Capitol.
You mean, apart from the listening devices already in place, planted by (oh, say) Eric Swalwell’s ChiCom mistress or Dianne Feinstein’s ChiCom chauffeur?
But wait, it gets better:
“If this were an organized, fully intent terrorist group — and there were certainly terrorist activities yesterday, but I mean, al Qaeda style — they could have killed a lot of representatives and god knows what else,” Gallego said.
You mean the terrorist who walked around with Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, or the terrorist who was sitting behind her desk? The whole thing looked more like a college fraternity romp, no matter how scawwwwy it appeared to the timorous at the time.
To be serious for a moment: from all accounts, there were about 200,000 pissed-off Trump supporters in D.C. last Wednesday, of which about 0.001% decided to “invade” the Capitol and disrupt the oh-so august proceedings of certifying the results of a fraudulent election. Imagine if that percentage had been, say, 13% — the percentage of Americans who actually fought in the Revolution under George Washington — and if those 26,000 people had been fully armed and quite intent on overthrowing the government?
But they weren’t, of course. They were, to coin a phrase, mostly peaceful people who just wanted their voices to be heard.
But that seems to have been enough to disturb the Establishment from their everyday job of fucking over the people in this country:
Beyond the security question, this person told me the mob action has been a psychological blow on the DC bureaucracy which didn’t think such an open expression of tangible disrespect for the government was possible. In other words, the capitol mob was a blow to their status, and Washingtonians believe the entire protest represents more than just anger at the election outcome: the disrespectful spirit of the day represents a real threat to their power going forward. This is one reason for the paranoia of Democrats at the moment, and they worry that more such protests are not only possible but likely. Part of the reason there is such fury on the left to run Trump out of office right away is that DC is genuinely afraid of him and his followers.
And here’s a news flash for these pricks: we’re not going away, no matter how hard you try to suppress us.
One last giggle:
Among other things, the fact that apparently some Capitol Police were friendly with the protestors who entered the building have federal bureaucrats wondering whether they can fully trust their own security personnel.
Just remember, socialists: these are also the people whom you are going to send out to try to disarm American citizens.
Good luck with that shit.
I’d like to believe this, I really would.
…but I can’t count the number of times I’ve been energized by some kind of conservative uprising — first with Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America, then when the Tea Party took to the streets and finally, during the Trump phenomenon.
Every single one of them showed promise, and every single one of them failed in the face of concerted opposition from the massed forces of socialism: academia, the mainstream media, Democratic Congress, pretty much the entire legal establishment (activist lawyers, Soros-sponsored prosecutors, liberal judges, a supine Supreme Court). And then we had the outright — and so far, unpunished — lawlessness of a fraudulent and stolen election, to end all hope of peaceful, Constitutional change.
(Incidentally, Jim Hoft has done an excellent job of putting this into context, with details.)
For the first time in my life, I’m starting to understand the appeal of a “strongman” dictator like Franco or Pinochet, because the Augean Stables that this nation has become seems to be both unworkable and irredeemable.
Maybe I’m just too old for this anymore. So yeah, Mr. Sleeping Giant: go ahead and wake up, for all the good it will do.
I’ll do whatever I must when the forces of evil come knocking on my door; but until then… I’m kinda where this guy is standing.
It occurred to me yesterday that some wokester / Pantifa type (you all know the people I mean) might take issue with my statement in Comments, following my use of the dreaded Word That Shall Not Be Spoken (nigger):
I’m more African AND more American than most people of the Pantifa/BLM persuasion…
To use the revolting modern expression: let’s “unpack” that sentence.
Any way you slice it, I’m far more African than the average native-born Black person, and I’m more American than any recent African immigrant (e.g. Somali, Nigerian, etc.) by virtue of a.) my citizenship and b.) my length of domicile in the U.S.
“Aha!” a wokester may say triumphantly, “but you’re not Black!”
So it’s all about skin color? Well… now who’s the racist?
