“Walking Back”

If Biden’s puppeteers have to do any more “walking back” after the senile old Commie blurts out yet another piece of sublime idiocy, they’ll end up back in the 1800s.

Here’s the background:

“I was in Massachusetts about a month ago on the site of the largest old coal plant in America. Guess what? It cost them too much money,” Biden said at an event in Carlsbad, California. “No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it, even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant. So it’s going to become a wind generation.”

“And all they’re doing is, it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”

Of course, this pissed off West Virginia’s Mr. Coal, Sen. Joe Manchin:

“Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure,” Manchin said. “Let me be clear, this is something the President has never said to me.”

…and here’s the latest “sorry, but he didn’t know what he was talking about (again)” statement from his Chief Back-Walker, the execrable Karine Jean-Pierre:

President Biden knows that the men and women of coal country built this nation: they powered its steel mills and factories, kept its homes and schools and offices warm. They made this the most productive and powerful nation on Earth. He came to the White House to end years of big words but little action to help the coal-producing parts of our country. Working closely with Senator Manchin, a tireless advocate for his state and the hard-working men and women who live there, President Biden has helped get this part of the country back to work… [and then a whole string of similar lies that I won’t bother you with].

The schematic seems to be:  Biden says something idiotic, then the back-walkers say something that precisely contradicts what he just said, with a hefty seasoning of lies, bullshit and mumbles to drown out our roars of laughter.

This is no way to run a country.  It’s no way to run anything.

First tomorrow, then November 2024.

No Clothes, Also No Body

Via Insty, I came across this priceless pearl of wisdom:

Can’t We Just Admit That Modern Art Is Garbage?

Of course we can.  Because, as one wise man on Teh Intarwebz has noted:

…because, as another Internet sage points out:

“Who the hell would notice?”

And he’s right:

(That painting, by the way, sold for $12 million, proving that…. well, you know the rest.)

It’s not art — and by the way, the revelation that some series of straight lines by Mondrian has been hanging upside-down in some gallery for decades should come as no surprise to anyone except an art “critic”, “connoisseur” or some pretentious art phony (lots of overlap).

Learning From Furriners

It’s not often that I think we can learn much from Them What Ain’t Murkins, but this would definitely be one of those times:

Sweden’s new right-wing government has sparked an outcry after scrapping the Ministry of Environment in a move the opposition has branded “devastating”.

The Enviros are now part of the Swedish Commerce Dept., which is where they belong, if anywhere at all.  And the only thing “devastating” about this decision is the hair-on-fire response.

Creating the Dept. of the Environment was perhaps the worst thing Richard Nixon ever did, and elevating this bunch of wackos to a Cabinet position is in the Top 3 Worst for Jimmy Carter (it’s difficult to rank the awful things Carter did, there being so many, but a top 3 for this one is certainly appropriate).

Well done, Sweden!  Bra jobbat!

Clueless Moron

President Braindead issued his latest piece of stupidity a few days ago, and of course hilarity followed soon after:

President Joe Biden told NowThis News during a Sunday interview that he is pushing to limit gun owners to having no more than “eight bullets in a round.”

I know, I know;  it’s just another bit of Biden Droolspeak, and of course it’s laughable.

What’s really laughable is that an 8-round magazine capacity restriction (for that is what the First Moron is actually talking about) won’t ever pass into law, and even if it did, it’s unenforceable.

Or maybe Ol’ Stumbles really wants to turn few score million gun owners into de facto  criminals (which frankly, given the Socialists’ penchant for controlling the population, is not that far-fetched).

Roll on, Election Day 2022.

Return To Sender

Here’s the situation:

With an estimated surface area of over 600,000 square miles, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (GPGP) is the largest plastic accumulation zone in the world.

Located halfway between Hawaii and California, the GPGP is estimated to contain a whopping 2.41 million tonnes of plastic – and is continuing to grow.

Scientists are desperately trying to clear the build-up, and this month have been able to extract 10 tonnes (10,086kg) of plastic, bringing the total of plastic removed to 145 tonnes (145,518 kg).

So the job is about .006% done?  Okay, whatever.  Keep on going, then.

What I object to is that the junk is being offloaded onto U.S. soil, when in fact it should just be returned to its principle point of origin:  China (with an assist from the Japs).

Of course, being the assholes that they are, the ChiComs won’t destroy or recycle any of it, but just dump it all back into the ocean.

Asia wins again.

By the way, I see no reason why this cleanup effort shouldn’t be funded in its entirety by Green billionaires and their woke corporations.

Not So Sure

Then there’s this little development:

Former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard ripped into national Democratic Party leaders, calling them “elitists” who no longer care about individual freedom.

Gabbard, a former Democratic candidate for president, later added that her former party bares no resemblance to the party as it was when John F. Kennedy was president.

I know she quit the Socialist Party and all that, and she’s rather cute-looking:

… but I still don’t trust her, because guns.

And by the way, it’s “BEARS no resemblance” — holds, not strips off
