Self-Determination

Apparently the horrible European Union is not happy with Viktor Orban’s recent electoral victory in Hungary, and are bent on punishing the Hungarians for not voting the way the EU wanted them to.

According to a report by Euronews, the European Commission has triggered the so-called “conditionality mechanism” over what are alleged to be Hungarian breaches of EU law.

The move — which had only recently been ruled legal by a European court — opens up the eastern-European country to economic sanctions, allowing the EU to freeze funding sent to the eastern European country, which reportedly amounts currently to around five billion euros per anum.

While the exact reasons for the triggering of the mechanism were not given*, the commission has previously repeatedly targeted Hungary over alleged “corruption” regarding its judiciary, with many in Europe also taking issue with the Conservative cultural dominance in its national media.

(*of course not;  that transparency is just too inconvenient.  I bet the Brits are thanking their lucky stars every day for having quit the foul cabal.)

And the horror towards the “conservative cultural dominance in the media” is just priceless — how dare the Hungarian media not be in lockstep with the socialist-internationalism of the rest of the world’s media?

Go, Viktor, go!  Anything that pisses off the EU so much cannot be that bad.

Black Eye

As the Hungarian presidential elections grew closer, the polls showed that strongman Viktor Orban’s support was slipping as the public were reportedly growing tired of his nationalistic policies.

Except of course that it was all bullshit, as Orban won going away.

The working class of Hungary have spoken. The people are not going to stop supporting Prime Minister Viktor Orban, their grandfatherly, pragmatic economic nationalist and populist leader.

Needless to say, according to Sundance, the Swamp was unhappy:

However, the U.S., NATO, Globalists, World Economic Forum and western alliance group, run by and from the CIA/State Dept operational headquarters, are not happy. Not happy at all.

And the Grauniad says:

While votes were still being tallied, it appeared clear that the question was not whether Fidesz would take the election, but by how much. With nearly 75% of votes counted, it appeared possible that Fidesz would win another constitutional majority in the 199-member parliament.
It has previously had a two-thirds supermajority that has enabled it to radically restructure the country’s politics and social policies during its 12-year reign, transforming Hungary into a self-styled “illiberal democracy” that has flouted western norms and frequently been at odds with the EU.

Suck on it, assholes.

Total Agreement

I see that the Russkis are getting in on the act:

A Russian state TV host called on the U.S. to remove President Joe Biden and reinstate former President Donald Trump days after Biden made his own call for a regime change aimed at Vladimir Putin.

Trust me, Eugene old buddy, we want that regime change much more than you do — but whereas you lot can just murder the top guy and put someone else in his place, we have that Constitution thing which tells us that it’s a no-no.  We have to wait till the next elections in 2024 when we can cast this asshole (and his godless Party reptiles) out of office and begin the job of rebuilding the catastrophe of his policies both foreign and domestic.

However — and please take note of this — little adventures of the Ukrainian type will be tolerated even less by the non-Biden successor, so take all your war toys and conscripts back while you still have the choice, and stick them in mothballs.

We may be busy with the Great Reconstruction in a couple years’ time, but that doesn’t mean we’ll just sit by while you assholes invade the Baltic republics or Poland;  because one of the things we’ll be reconstructing is our military.

Depend on it.

Ungrateful

I see that the “goodwill” visit of the future King of Britishland to Jamaica has been anything but, as the rather churlish response shows:

Jamaica ‘ready to move towards removing the Queen as head of state and becoming a republic as soon as Kate and William get on the plane’

See, in the days of yore, the monarch would respond by forcibly repatriating all UK-based Jamaican residents to their homeland — along with any progeny.  (Britishland does not have a U.S.-like “citizenship through birth” policy, so they could kick out anyone they want to, pretty much.)

But these are not the days of yore, sadly, so that won’t happen.  Instead, the U.K. will have to brace itself for a flood of Jamaicans arriving in London ahead of their “independence”, as Jamaica slides into the usual Third World pit, and those left behind will discover that freedom from the yoke of British paternalism (born of slavery) will have some extremely nasty consequences.

And I hope they get it, good and hard.

Waking The InstaBeast

Ooooh you don’t want to get Dr Professor Reynolds angry:

WHEN BIG FIRMS REPRESENTED AL QAEDA TERRORISTS, we were told that everyone has a right to representation.

Yet big firms were bullied into dropping Trump as a client, none of them appear to be offering pro bono representation to the January 6 defendants, and now we see this: Harvard, Yale, And Stanford Law Students And Faculty Pressure U.S. Law Firms To Cut Ties With Russian Clients.

So given that lawyers apparently are morally responsible for their choice of clients, I think it’s fair to criticize Ketanji Brown Jackson for representating accused terrorists.

Ouch.
