We Are The Enemy

Over at the Treehouse, Sundance outlines how We The People have become the enemy of the governing class:

The United States Department of Homeland Security made a quiet and alarming announcement yesterday, creating the official position of the United States Government under the Joe Biden regime. [SEE DHS STATEMENT HERE]  According to the statement, if you question the orthodoxy, mandates, or COVID-19 response from the U.S. government, you are now considered a “terrorist”, specifically a “Domestic Violent Extremist” (DVE).

You know, if you treat people as the enemy long enough, and provoke them often enough, they will eventually become exactly what you accused them of at the beginning.

Just sayin’.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to the range.

Retaliation

I was wondering how long it would take for this kind of thing to happen:

A statue of Martin Luther King Jr. was vandalized with SS bolts and a swastika in Long Beach over the weekend. It is the second time in two years the statue, erected in 1986, has been targeted, after a plaque bearing one of his quotations was stolen in 2019.

What’s interesting is that it happened in oh-so liberal California (although it should be noted that Long Beach does not share the same socio-political profile as, say, San Francisco or West Hollywood).

Here’s the pic:

To all those assholes who think it’s okay to desecrate monuments to past heroes like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington while revering those like Martin Luther King, let me just say this:  you started it.

I’m not excusing this kind of thing;  but I do understand the rationale.

One Totem, One Statue

When you’ve lost the Canucks

A native totem pole was set on fire on Canada’s Vancouver Island in what is suspected to be retaliation for the destruction of a statue of Captain James Cook.
The Salish Bear Pole was seen smouldering at the summit of the Malahat Highway hours after a mob ripped down a statue of the British explorer in the provincial capital of Victoria, took off its head, and “drowned” it in the Inner Harbour.

My favorite part:

“Fresh graffiti was also located at the scene, speaking to recent events in Victoria where a statue of James Cook was pulled down and thrown in the Victoria Harbour, based on what was written, we feel the two incidences are related,” the policeman said.

Ya think?  And in the very next sentence:

The words ‘ONE TOTEM – ONE STATUE’ had been scrawled in front of the burning totem in black spray-paint.

Ordinarily, I’d be loath to copy anything the Canuckis do, but I have to tell y’all…

Oh, and of course, CanuckiPres Manboy was quick to toss some gas onto the flames:

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called the church attacks “unacceptable” but added that he “understand[s] the anger that’s out there against the federal government, against institutions like the Catholic church; it is real and it is fully understandable given the shameful history that we are all becoming more and more aware of”.

Maybe our Proud Red Ensigners should burn this asshole instead of a totem.  Just sayin’.
